Diverse land use is a core component of creating a walkable environment, which increases opportunities for regular physical activity, social interaction, and access to local amenities. 

Strategy Requirements

Include a minimum of 2 qualifying non-residential uses within the project.

Qualifying non-residential uses are:

• areas of commerce
• civic and/or institutional buildings
• commercial buildings
• light industrial buildings

Note: Open spaces such as parks or plazas do no qualify as non-residential for this strategy.
