Strategy Requirements
Provide qualifying universally accessible entrances and pathways at all of the following areas within the project:
- all sidewalks
- route to a transit stop if located on-site or within 1/2 mile or 800 meters walking distance from a site entrance
- outdoor amenities and open space(s)
- street crossings
Qualifying universal accessible entrances and pathways meet the following:
- are free of obstacles that may impede or cause difficulties for those with physical disabilities
- include adjoining ramps and sloped access in the event of stairs or steps to all main entrances of buildings
- include curb cuts and warning strips at street crossings
Alternative Compliance
Provide qualifying universally accessible entrances and pathways at a minimum of 2 of the following areas:
- sidewalks and pedestrian pathways
- route to transit stops
- outdoor amenities and open space(s)
- street crossings
Design Certification
Submit the following:
- Annotated plan(s) showing the existing or planned location of all of the required areas
- Design drawings detailing each qualifying unique universally accessible entrance and pathway
Built Certification
Submit the following:
- Annotated plan(s) detailing the location of all of the required areas
- A minimum of 3 photographs showing the design of each qualifying unique universally accessible entrance and pathway
