Rationale

Pedestrian-oriented wayfinding supports pedestrian navigation of the site and promotes safety. 

Strategy Requirements

Include wayfinding within the project boundary that:

1. provides directions to a minimum of 3 qualifying amenities located within the project boundary
2. provides directions to a minimum of 2 qualifying amenities located within 1/2 or 800 meters walking distance from a site entrance
3. outlines walking distances to identified qualifying amenities
4. is located within 100 feet or 30 meters of all of the following
   1. areas of commerce
   2. civic and/or institutional buildings
   3. transit stops
   4. parks or plazas
   5. commercial and/or industrial buildings
   6. social spaces
   7. areas identified as community destinations or high-traffic corridors

Qualifying amenities include:

• outdoor space
• shared on-site amenity
• transit stop
• community center
• library
• hospital/medical center
• restaurant
• farmers market
• CSA drop-off point
• on-site buildings
• site entrances

Design Certification

Submit the following:

1. Annotated map(s) or plan(s) identifying all of the following:
   1. the planned location of each wayfinding sign
   2. the distance to each identified amenity
   3. the identified wayfinding destinations
2. An official statement confirming that wayfinding signs will include distances and destinations

Built Certification

Submit the following:

1. Annotated map(s) or plan(s) identifying all of the following:
   1. the location of each wayfinding sign
   2. the distance to each identified amenity
   3. the identified wayfinding destinations
2. A minimum of 3 annotated photographs of each unique wayfinding sign
