Rationale

Provide or connect to multi-use trails or greenways. 

Strategy Requirements

Include a multi-use trail(s) or greenway(s) within the project boundary that is:

• free of charge to all regular occupants
• exclusively for non-vehicular use
• accessible by sidewalks or bicycle lane
• a minimum of 1 mile or 1600 meters in length
• shielded from other functions by a natural buffer 

Alternative Compliance

The qualifying multi-use trail(s) is located within 1/2 mile or 800 meters walking distance from the project boundary.

Design Certification

Submit the following:

1. An official or draft statement confirming that the trail will be free of charge to all regular occupants
2. Annotated map(s) or plan(s) detailing that the trail will be:
   1. exclusively for non-vehicular use
   2. accessible by sidewalks or bicycle lanes
   3. a minimum of 1 mile of 1600 meters in length
   4. located within one of the following:
      1. the project boundary
      2. 1/2 or 800 meters from the project boundary (Alternative Compliance only)
3. Design drawings detailing the existing or planned natural buffer

Built Certification

Submit the following:

1. An official statement confirming that the trail is free of charge to all regular occupants
2. Annotated map(s) or plan(s) detailing that the trail is:
   1. exclusively for non-vehicular use
   2. accessible by sidewalks or bicycle lanes
   3. a minimum of 1 mile of 1600 meters in length
   4. located within one of the following:
      1. the project boundary
      2. 1/2 or 800 meters from the project boundary (Alternative Compliance only)
3. A minimum of 3 photographs detailing the natural buffer
