Strategy Requirements
Establish and implement a temporary placemaking plan to activate underutilized open spaces that:
- programs a minimum of one underutilized or under-built space on-site within the project boundary with one of the following:
- community events
- commercial events
- cultural events
- outlines a programming schedule that:
- identifies the underutilized space on-site
- identifies the duration the space will be underutilized within a year
- outlines monthly events during the period when the space is underutilized
Qualifying underutilized or under-built spaces include:
- undeveloped site areas
- unoccuppied buildings
- parking areas that are vacant during certain hours of the day
- private driveways that are not utilized during certain hours of the day
- seasonally used spaces during the off-season
- vacant lots
Design Certification
Submit an official or draft copy of the qualifying temporary placemaking plan detailing the following:
- The type of program that will be implemented
- The identified underutilized space within the project
- The duration the space will be underutilized
- The schedule of monthly events
Built Certification
Submit all of the following:
- The official temporary placemaking plan detailing the following:
- The type of program implemented
- The duration the space is underutilized
- The schedule of monthly events
- Annotated maps(s) or plan(s) showing the identified underutilized space within the project
