Aim
To ensure the needs, ideas and knowledge of the community and key stakeholders are used to improve the quality and acceptability of the development throughout the design process.
Assessment Criteria
The following is required to demonstrate compliance:
Mandatory requirements
- The consultation plan (GO 01 – Consultation plan) is used to determine when consultation takes place and who is consulted with regarding the development proposal.
- Good practice consultation methods are used to engage members of the community and appropriate stakeholders in the process of designing development proposals.
- Following consultation, feedback is given to the consultation group regarding suggestions made.
One credit
- Criteria 1 to 3 are achieved.
- Influence and/or alteration to the masterplan can be demonstrated as a result of the consultation process. Where outcomes of the consultation have not influenced the design, the decision to not include them has been fully justified.
Two credits
- Criteria 1 to 5 are achieved.
- A workshop to inform the development of the masterplan has been carried out as part of the consultation process.
