1003 Public Education – Above Green

Intent

Increase public awareness of the National Green Building Standard and projects constructed in accordance with National Green Building Standard to help increase demand for high-performance homes.

1003.1 - Public Education

One or more of the following is implemented (2 points max):

Signage. Signs showing the project is designed and built in accordance with the National Green Building Standard are posted on the construction site. (1 point)
Certification Plaques. National Green Building Standard certification plaques with rating level attainted are placed in a conspicuous location near the utility area of the home or, in a conspicuous location near the main entrance of a multifamily building. (1 point)
Education. A URL for the National Green Building Standard is included on site signage, builder website (or property website for multifamily buildings), and marketing materials for homes certified under the National Green Building Standard. (1 point)

Required Documentation

For (1), Visual confirmation and/or photos of the construction signs visible on site during construction.

For (2), Purchase order for certification signage and written instructions regarding installation location.

For (3), Photos, screen shots of web pages, or copies of marketing materials that include www.ngbs.com.
