2. Daylighting and Light Controls – Above Green

Locate all employee work areas, such as classrooms and offices, on exterior walls or other locations where it is feasible to maximize daylighting. Maximize daylighting in break rooms and other gathering areas where feasible. Meet the requirements of ASHRAE 189.1 Section 8.4.1.2 (Minimum Sidelighting effective Aperture for Office Spaces and Classrooms) or Section 8.5.1.2 (Usable Daylight Illuminance in Office Spaces and Classrooms). Provide automated lighting controls in accordance with UFC 3-530-01.
